On Sunday, Dec. 7, Jason Gibson brought the morning message. His message was entitled "The Gift of a Pure Heart" and came from Joshua 7. He stated in his sermon that the cycle of sin is see, desire, and take. He also talked about the four truths of sin. My sin harms my family, denies the blessing and presence of God, brings dishonor to the glory of God, and can be forgiven through the available mercy of God.

Our Christmas card mail box is up at the church. Please place your cards in the proper mail slot and check your mail slot each week to pick up your cards. There is also a box for monetary donations which will go to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering.

There will be a household shower for Davis Reeves and Natosha Barrett on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 3 p.m. at the home of Vickie (Faw) Harding. If you have any questions, call Vickie, Annette Story, or Geneva Faw.

On Sunday night, Dec. 14, the children will present their Christmas play, "The Christmas County Spelling Bee," during the worship service. The play will begin at 6:30 p.m. The children and their leaders have been working several months on the play. Be sure to come out to support them and have a good time in the Lord also.

On Dec. 29-31, over 40 people will be heading to Pigeon Forge to the Xtreme Conference. Permission slips can be printed off the church's website or picked up at the church.

The adult choir is currently working on their Christmas program which will be presented at the Stuart Underwood Auditorium at Lincoln County High School on Thursday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. The name of their program is "Christmas Is Jesus."

On Sunday night, Dec. 21, Barbara Andrew will have a Christmas concert at Pleasant View.

There will be no church at Pleasant View on Wednesday, Dec. 24 or Wednesday, Dec. 31.

Also remember in prayer the church's search team as they are working diligently to find an interim pastor and/or pastor for our church.
