Police news: Illegal booze sales in Lincoln

CRAB ORCHARD - At approximately 7:40 p.m. on Dec. 31, Lincoln County deputy sheriffs arrested Truman Saylor, 63, and his wife, Cheryl Saylor, 48, both of Crab Orchard, for illegally selling alcoholic beverages in a dry territory.

Sheriff Curt Folger and Deputies Sim Thacker, Donnie Gilliam, Jeremy Garrison and Rob Oney executed a search warrant at the couple's residence after conducting a controlled purchase of alcoholic beverages from Truman Saylor. Beer, whiskey, cash and surveillance equipment were confiscated during the search.

Truman Saylor was lodged in the Lincoln County Regional Jail.

Men arrested for disorderly conduct

CRAB ORCHARD - Lincoln County deputies arrested Billy Durham, 51, of Stanford about 2 a.m. Saturday for disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. Also arrested for disorderly conduct was David Cress, 47, of Crab Orchard.

Deputies Robin Jones, Ryan Kirkpatrick, Sim Thacker and Jeremy Garrison responded to a fight in progress on Manor Boulevard in Crab Orchard where they observed the two subjects fighting in the street.

Both were taken to the Lincoln County Regional Jail.

Four-wheeler stolen

STANFORD - David Watts reported Sunday that someone broke into a storage building overnight and removed his 2004 Honda four-wheeler without permission.

Deputy Chad Smith is investigating the burglary and theft.
