Immanuel Baptist turns 100 years old

LEXINGTON - The sounds of gospel music will ring loudly on Sunday, Jan. 25 at the sanctuary of Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington as recording artists Lynda Randle and Russ Taff will be featured in a special musical worship event.

Immanuel, in conjunction with Armani Baptist Church, is celebrating its 100th anniversary on Feb. 1. The event on Jan. 25 will serve as the kick off to this century celebration.

Randle, of Kansas City, Mo., has spent nearly two decades ministering in churches and arenas, sharing her testimony and vocal talents. She is regularly featured on the Bill Gaither Homecoming Video and Concert Series and has more than a dozen video and audio recordings to her credit.

Californian Russ Taff has enjoyed a successful solo career in addition to his years with such popular groups as The Imperials and The Gaither Vocal Band. With a total of five Grammy Awards and nine Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association, he is also regularly featured on the successful Gaither Homecoming series.
