Burglary charges against a Mount Sterling man are going to the grand jury after he allegedly broke into a number of cars and two garages.

Ridge Wilson, 21, was arrested along with Travis Fulz in the early morning hours of Jan. 7 after allegedly breaking into a garage and home at 220 Boone Ave. and several vehicles, Winchester Police Detective Danny Thomas testified in Clark District Court Wednesday afternoon.

The resident, who woke after hearing a noise, saw a black male and a white male leaving her home. One was wearing a jacket with a bull logo on the back, Thomas said.

Shortly afterward, WPD Officer Joshua McFarland spotted two men walking along Fox Avenue, who matched the descriptions of the suspects. He arrested both, charging Wilson after he found a bag of marijuana and a pipe with marijuana residue on his person.

As the investigation continued, officers located much of the stolen property at the home of Richard Roland at 146 W. Lexington Ave., Thomas said. After that, Fulz became cooperative and showed police several locations where they had broken into vehicles or homes, Thomas said.

After each burglary, the items taken were delivered to Roland's home, Thomas said.

Roland has also been charged with receiving stolen property, he said.

Wilson was charged with one count of second-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree burglary and six counts of theft by unlawful taking.

Following the preliminary hearing, Clark District Judge Earl-Ray Neal found enough probable cause to send the case to the grand jury for further consideration.
