Mercer grand jury returns indictments

HARRODSBURG - A Mercer County grand jury has indicted a Harrodsburg man in connection with a burglary, thefts, forgery and drug possession.

Cory Lee Maynard, 30, of 842 Clay Ave. is charged with first-degree burglary for allegedly breaking into Tim Willoughby's residence on Dec. 2 and taking a gun and other items valued at more than $300.

Maynard also was charged with receiving stolen property for allegedly having cash and jewelry valued at more than $300 belonging to Tim and Karen Gill on Dec. 12, when he also was charged with having a forged check for $12 drawn on Farmers National Bank and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Bond was set at $30,000. Deputy Sheriff Wes Gaddis testified before the grand jury.

Others indicted were:

* Theresa Nowlin, 45, 2196 Louisville Road, welfare fraud for allegedly failing to report changes in factors allowing her to receive public assistance between October 2005 and September 2008. Bond was set at $5,000. Curt Radabaugh testified.

* Alma Moore, 36, of Lancaster, welfare fraud for allegedly failing to report changes in factors allowing her to receive public assistance between April and August. Bond was set at $5,000. Radabaugh testified.

* Tommy Hoskins, 29, Parkview Guesthouse No. 1, first-degree robbery for allegedly threatening to use a dangerous instrument on Rodney Tuscano during a theft at Value Gas Mart on Dec. 22. Bond was set at $50,000. Officer Scott Elder testified.

* Alison Smith Claunch, 35, 109 North Lane, obtaining a controlled substance by fraud for allegedly using a false name to get hydrocodone from Kroger Pharmacy on June 5. Bond was set at $5,000. The grand jury witness was listed as A. Wesley.

* Anthony Rosenbarger, 43, of Burgin, third-offense driving under the influence on Nov. 1 and being a persistent felony offender. Bond was set at $20,000. Burgin Chief Jim Caldwell testified.
