Housing Authority to meet Monday

The Housing Authority will meet Monday, Feb. 9, at 5:30 p.m. at Sequoia Village Office.

School board

The Clark County Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. today at the central office building on West Lexington Avenue.

Corrections

- According to Rich Barker, general manager of Quality Manufacturing Inc., employees were not evacuated on Monday due to the explosive nature of the toner, as the Sun reported Tuesday. The toner is only explosive if it gets airborne in high concentration levels, Barker explained. The dust collection system had not been used in years. Employees were leaving because it was 3:15 p.m., their normal quitting time. The fire was not caused from a cutting torch. A torch had been used two hours earlier. The exact nature was not determined. Speculation is that there was metal-to-metal contact that could have caused a spark.

- In the local briefs Tuesday, the Sun published the wrong date for the school board meeting. The board meets tonight at 6 at the central office.
