Police news: Alleged evader charges dropped

A Parksville man who allegedly threw jars of moonshine while being chased by sheriff's deputies had charges related to the incident dropped.

David McConaha, accused of fleeing from a Boyle County Sheriff's Deputies on Dec. 28, had charges of alcohol intoxication - while in a public place, second-degree fleeing or evading police, disorderly conduct and criminal littering dropped in Boyle County District Court on Feb 4.

According to the clerk's office, McConaha admitted probable cause for Deputy Al Isaacs to arrest him, and the charges were dismissed.

McConaha was allegedly one of two staggering male subjects located in Mitchellsburg by Isaacs.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Isaacs attempted to stop the two men, later identified as McConaha and Bryan Cook, of Junction City, however, they allegedly fled from the deputy on foot.

The Boyle SO reported while fleeing, the men tossed jars of moonshine from their pockets.

McConaha remained in the Boyle County Detention Center since the arrest on a $6,000 cash bond, a high-end figure McConaha said he received after being difficult during pretrial.

Boyle County Attorney Richard Campbell was out of the office Wednesday and unavailable for comment on the case.
