Levin murder trial under way

February 12, 2009

A murder trial in the shooting death of former Danville resident Chiara Levin is under way in Boston.

Levin died after being shot in the head March 24, 2007, by a bullet meant for somebody else, according to open statements.

The Boston Globe, which is covering the trial, reported on its Web site that Levin came to Boston from New York City to visit friends and attend a family gathering.

She stayed at a downtown Boston hotel and went out to a Theater District nightclub with a cousin and college friends. At closing time, Levin and her two college friends abruptly decided to go to an after-hours party on Geneva Avenue, riding in a Cadillac Escalade with three men.
