Courthouses closed today to honor Hunt

Clark County Judge-Executive Henry Branham announced late this morning that the Clark County Courthouse and the James Clark Judicial Center would both close at noon today to honor Circuit Clerk David Hunt, who died yesterday.

EMS to mark Child Passenger Safety Week

Winchester Fire/EMS will mark Child Passenger Safety Week by reminding children of the importance of buckling up in the car.

According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration research, 8,325 lives of children under age 5 have been saved by the proper use of child restraints during the past 30 years.

On Monday, Winchester Fire/EMS will kick off the week with Bucklebear, a teddy bear that was developed by Dr. Albert Chang and his team at the UCLA School of Public Heath. They will be traveling to the public and private schools to educate children and caregivers about child passenger safety throughout the week.

Hannah McClure PTO meeting set March 3

Hannah McClure's Parent-Teacher organization will meet Tuesday, March 3, at 6 p.m. in the school library.

There will be no site-based council meeting at the school in March.
