Letter: Loss of freedoms will implode country

March 15, 2009

Dear Editor,

I feel that as a nation we are slowly being eaten alive in such small incremental nibbles that we don't see the loss of our life's blood, which is our freedom that is guaranteed by our constitutional form of government. And one of the freedoms that was absolutely germane in the formation of our government was the freedom of religion and not the freedom from religion.

All of our moral laws to regulate a civil society are based on the moral absolutes of the Christian Bible and not on writings taken from any other religious document. When I hear that children are not allowed to be taught biblical history but are taught select passages from the Quran I'm reminded of Nazi Germany or Communist Russia.

The strength and resilience of this nation rests upon the foundation of two historically intertwined institutions; religion and education. In the early days of the country, religious teaching was a required part of a general education.

If you've ever watched the demolition of a large building, you can understand why the enemies of democracy attack the religious and educational systems. When you eat away at the foundation of anything it will eventually implode.

Recall some of the religious symbols and expressions taken from us by the ACLU, all in the name of protection of our First Amendment rights and you begin to see the pattern of destruction. The immoral forces such as the ACLU, NAMBLA, NOW, Planned Parenthood, Gay Rights and several other left wing groups are slowly eating away at the foundation of this country and it will eventually implode. No democracy in the history of the world has ever lasted as long as the United States of America. And each one of them were demolished from within because good people let bad things take control of their lives.

We've allowed the forces of immorality to slowly eat away at the foundation of this nation until it looks like Swiss cheese. Our rights come from God and not government, whose responsibility is to protect those rights. It's time to remind the politicians that they are not God.
