Winnie Phillippe, 85

Winnie Phillippe, 85, of Stanford, died Friday, March March 20 at her home.

A native of Pulaski County, she was born May 23, 1923, to the late Ulysses Brooks Ratliff and Murtle May Ratliff. She was a seamstress at Palm Beach for 11 years, member of Fairview Baptist Church where she was a long time Sunday school teacher for the young women's class and the widow of R. Hayden Phillippe.

She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Eddy Hopkins; a sister, Wagie Phillippe; and a brother, Tate Ratliff.

Survivors include a son, Michael (Karen) Phillippe of Hustonville; five daughters, Rebecca (Troy) Hansel of Somerset, Rosemary (Bobby) Maples and Kathy (Curtis) Brock both of Stanford, Suanne Hopkins of Crab Orchard and Bonnie Purcell (Paul) of Richmond; one sister, Margie McMullin; six grandchildren, Cris Woodard, Kevin Maples, Rob Woodard, Adam Hopkins, Kristi Crawford and Julie Puchalski; and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services were March 23 at Spurlin's Funeral Home in Stanford with Rev. Chester Cornett officiating. Burial was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Cris Woodard, Kevin Maples, Rob Woodard, Adam Hopkins, Travis Crawford, Kristi Crawford and Samantha Woodard.
