While searching for a missing juvenile, the Nicholasville Police Department stumbled upon a marijuana cultivating operation at a home at 301 Ridgewood Drive on Saturday.
Police arrested 32-year-old Daniel Foley and charged him with cultivating marijuana, more than five plants, trafficking marijuana, more than eight ounces, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to a news release, officers went to Foley's residence investigating the possible whereabouts of a missing juvenile. Foley said he knew the juvenile but indicated that she wasn't at the home.
He then gave police permission to search his home to verify the missing girl wasn't there. It was during the search that police found the marijuana in several locations throughout the house as well as a growing operation in a closet.
Police seized almost 18 ounces of pot and nine actively growing plants and various lights, fertilizers and fans used for growing marijuana.
