As for the transition, Miller said it hasn't "been really big."
"We're just trying to move on with everything, trying to work hard for him," he said. "We're just trying to get used to it and get into the flow of everything, get ready for what we're going to face next year and take it one day at a time."
The faster pace also fits Miller and gives him more freedom in the open court, which could result in more point production next season.
"I think it's a fun way to play basketball," he said. "It is up-tempo and you get out and run and everything. I think it's going to be real fun."
During the past two weeks, Miller said the team has been getting used to a new routine, a stark contrast to the one employed by former coach Billy Gillispie.
"It's a lot different," he said. "We work on a lot of drills to get us ready with the offense we're going to be running. Everybody is trying to have fun with it. Right now, we're just trying to adjust to it and get used to everything."
Miller figures to get plenty of shots in Calipari's offense, because of his size and ability to dribble and drive to the basket.
"The best players get the best shots in this offense," Calipari said Wednesday. "That's how this offense goes."
Both of the team's top players — Jodie Meeks and Patrick Patterson — have declared for the NBA Draft, but haven't hired agents, meaning both players could return next year. Miller said he hopes Meeks and Patterson are his teammates for at least one more season.
"I'm praying that we get them back," he said. "They're a big part of this team. They contribute in a lot of ways. We definitely want them back. Hopefully they will come back."
Miller said he's been doing his part to keep Meeks and Patterson on campus.
"I've been trying to persuade them to come back," he said with a laugh. "Hopefully it's working."
Calipari said Miller and the rest of the team has been responsive to his style of play.
"They are alert and they are on my every word," Calipari said. "I want them to have fun."
That suits Miller and the rest of the team just fine.
