Boy Scout Troop 119 benefit supper

The 39th annual spaghetti supper for Boy Scout Troop 119 will be 5-7 p.m. Friday in the church hall of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 117 W. Main St. The dinner will cost $5 and is sponsored by the church. All proceeds benefit the troop.

Bike ride to benefit Relay for Life

STANFORD - Affinia will host a motorcycle ride Sunday afternoon for Relay for Life campaign. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. in the old Lincoln Plaza parking lot in Stanford, on U.S. 150.

The ride will begin at 1:30 p.m. and continue for about an hour and half. A $10 donation per person is required and all proceeds go to Relay for Life American Cancer Association. For more information, call Jeff Hurt at (606) 669-5113.

DHS band to hold car wash

Danville High School Band Boosters will have a car wash 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Advanced Auto. Donations are accepted.

Seniors to build food tree

The Danville Church of God "Fed by Faith" ministry for seniors will build a senior food tree of donated items beginning 9 a.m. Friday and ending at 9 p.m. Saturday at Kroger. A list of items needed will be available at the site. Monetary donations also will be accepted 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday.

Butchertown community plans dinner

BUTCHERTOWN - A chicken and ham supper will be 6 p.m. Saturday at Butchertown Community Center in northern Casey County.

The menu consists of ham or chicken, potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, rolls, beverage and homemade desserts.

Proceeds will benefit the community center.

5K Run/Memory Walk set

Registration forms for the 5K Run/Memory Walk in honor of Military Appreciation Day on May 16 are available at The Advocate-Messenger, Hometown Radio, Danville Kroger, McDowell Wellness Center and all Farmers National Bank locations. Forms also can be downloaded at www.danvillebikeandfootwear.com.

It will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Boyle County Fairgrounds on the Danville bypass. The $15 pre-registration fee is due by May 7; registration the day of is $17. The cost to veterans, active duty personnel, reserves and National Guard members is $10.

Meetings

Lancaster City Council - 7 p.m. Monday in the Council Chambers, 308 W. Maple Ave., for its regular meeting. The agenda includes department reports, review of city's ordinances and first reading; discussion on water building and free dump days May 14-16; and second reading of drug ordinance.

Lincoln County/Cedar Creek Planning Commission canceled its regular meeting Tuesday due to the lack of an agenda.
