Prep Tennis: Palmer, Kindred fall in semis

Kelsey Palmer advanced to the semifinals of the regional tennis tournament at Georgetown College Monday, before losing to Highlands' No. 2 seed.

Palmer defeated Montgomery County 6-0 and 6-2 before losing 5-7, 7-5 and 6-0 in the semifinal round.

Ginny Rush lost in the quarterfinals 0-6 and 2-6 to Highlands.

The doubles duo of Tayler Kindred and Makenzie Waltermire lost 0-6 and 2-6 to a doubles team from Highlands.

The Lady Cards currently are tied for second in the team standings.

Chase Kindred won his quarterfinal match 6-1 and 6-1, but then lost to Montgomery County's No. 3 seed 6-3, 3-6 and 2-6 in the semis.

In doubles, Chad Griffith and Taylor Graham defeated Pendleton County 6-0 and 6-1, but lost to the top-seeded team from Highlands 2-6 and 3-6.

The doubles team of Jacob Walson and Austin Norton lost to third-seeded Bourbon County 1-6 and 0-6.
