The proposed budget also includes funds for maintenance and repairs on Mitchellsburg Spur, Aliceton Road, Phillips Spur, Devine Road and Carpenters Creek Road. The work on Carpenters Creek will include widening.
Motorcycle ride planned
STANFORD - Affinia will host a motorcycle ride for Relay for Life on Sunday. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. in the Lincoln Plaza parking lot. The ride begins at 1:30 p.m. and will last 1-1/2 hours.
A $10 fee per person will go to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Pizza and drinks will be served, and drawings for door prizes will be at the end of the ride. For more information, call Jeff Hurt at (606) 669-5113.

The date in a photo showing a gathering of descendants of Sarah Mitchell Thompson was incorrect and one person was identified incorrectly May 10 on the Looking Back page. The gathering was in 1904. Cecil Tilden Ellis is the grandson of Mary Margaret Purdom Ellis.
