The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City, with the Rev. Kenneth Greene officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Stringfield, David Morris, Stephen Frost, Mike Soper, Josh Bustle and Jason Emerson.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Vernon Elliott Sr.1933-2009
LIBERTY - Vernon Edwin Elliott Sr., 71, of Ringgold, Ga., died Saturday, May 9.
Born Feb. 15, 1933, in Taylor County, he was a son of the late Herman and Virgie Hines Elliott.
Survivors include six children, Stacy, Vernon, Nora and David Elliott, all of Louisville, Kendrick Elliott of Ringgold and Lisa Oxford of East Ridge, Tenn.; a sister, Ivadean Alvery of Gary, Ind.; a brother, Mitchell Elliott of Waynesburg; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and friend, Erica Elliott.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Bartle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Salyers Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Saturday.

Rubie Logan
LANCASTER - Rubie Logan, 84, formerly of the Buckeye community died Saturday at Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Charlie and Alice Broadus Logan.
He is survived by two daughters, Vonciel James and Nevonia Meyers; three grandchildren, Kewan Meyers, Thomas Pead and Kenya Evans; and a brother-in-law, Cecil Dunn. He was preceded in death by a son, Waverly Meyers; a brother, Robert Logan; and a sister, Frances Dunn.
Services will be noon Friday at Spurlin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. Friday.
LINCOLN
Marion Montgomery1922-2009
STANFORD - Marion V. Montgomery, 86, of Stanford, died on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born on Thursday, June 29, 1922, in Pineville, La., she was a daughter of the late Marion D. and Winifred Aguillard Arrington. She was the widow of Manuel C. Montgomery.
Marion graduated from Dry Prong High School and attended Louisiana College. She served two years in the Navy during World War II, working a year at the Bureau of Ships in Washington, D.C. She attended Eastern Kentucky University receiving a bachelor of science and a master's degree. She retired from teaching in the Lincoln County School System. She was a member of McKinney Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher, church librarian and treasurer.
Marion leaves behind two sons, Michael Montgomery and his wife Asara of Louisville and William Montgomery and his wife Charlotte of Stanford; and two grandchildren, Kallen Wright and Adam Montgomery.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Buffalo Springs Cemetery with Bro. Paul Hines officiating.
Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Thursday at Fox Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to World Hunger or McKinney Baptist Church.

HARRODSBURG - Barbara Jean Hall, wife of James Hall, died Monday.
Born Nov. 1, 1940, in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late George and Dorothy Steele Phillips.
Other survivors include two daughters, Carroll Ann Sanders and Brenda Lee Bullington; two sons, Brian Keith Hall and James Douglas Hall; two sisters, Geraldine Devary and Brenda Steele; four brothers, Donnie, Ronnie, Tony and George Phillips; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Shawn Douglas Hall; and a sister, Doris Ann Hall.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today.
