Letter: Dr. Paul could prescribe freedom

May 19, 2009

Dear Editor,

It's always a breath of fresh air in Kentucky politics when you have someone new come along and bid for political office. Not just anyone new - but someone that truly cares about the people rather than just power, bankers, money, special interest groups, their own personal agenda and other lobbyists. Someone who is not a career politician, whose only income comes from lying to you so much that you just might vote them into office so they can pop champagne bottles and smoke big cigars. Someone who is truly concerned about the way things are, not only in the nation, but right here in Kentucky as well.

The person I'm talking about is Dr. Rand Paul of Bowling Green. Dr. Rand Paul announced recently on the Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC that he has formed an exploratory committee for U.S. Senate here in Kentucky and is campaigning all across the state now talking to different towns and schools about things that deeply concern him.

Within 12 hours of announcing his new Web site for his committee - www.RandPaul2010.com - he raised more than $10,000 from we the people. I have a fever and I'm in dire need for more freedom, liberty, honesty and transparency, and the only doctor around who can give it to me is Dr. Rand Paul.
