Little League Roundup

Aaron Pope pitched a three-hitter and recorded 10 strikeouts to lead the Athletics to a 4-2 win over the Red Sox Monday night at Lykins Park.

In the other Major League contest, the White Sox posted a 7-5 win over the Tigers. The Bats handed the Storm a 16-4 loss in the Minor League, while the A's beat the Yankees 8-4 and the Pirates downed the Cardinals 9-3 in the Rookie League.

The Cardinals handed the Tigers a 20-11 loss in Little League Softball.

Major League

A's 4, Red Sox 2

The A's scored two runs in two of the first three innings to defeat the Red Sox.

Jordan Menchen, Pope and Cody McCord each had a triple for the A's. Cody Hisle relieved Pope in the mound and finished with three strikeouts.

Bradley Meadows belted a double and fanned eight batters for the Red Sox.

White Sox 7, Tigers 5

The White Sox completed a successful rally with five runs in the sixth inning to hold off the Tigers.

Pitcher Riley Morguson scattered seven hits through four and two-thirds of an inning and finished with seven strikeouts.

Blake Toombs had a double and two singles, while Brady Crowe laced a double for the White Sox.

Dalton Bonner and Justin Howard each had a two-bagger for the Tigers. Howard whiffed four batters.

Minor League

Bats 16, Storm 4

The Bats scored four runs in the first inning and crossed the plate six more times in the sixth inning to defeat the Storm.

Kyran Osborne had a single and three triples, while Hunter Deel, Nathaniel Gerhardt and Jacob Congleton had three hits apiece.

Shain Claypool and Dakota Schmidt had two hits each.

Little League Softball

Cardinals 20, Tigers 11

The Cardinals erupted for 10 runs in the first two innings to hold off the Tigers.

Jessica Neal had two doubles, a triple and a pair of singles. Alexis Saylor added three hits and Madison Epperson added two hits for the Cardinals.

Rhiley Rucker had three hits and Abby Schanding added four hits for the Tigers.
