Dear Editor;
I do not think this letter to the editor will be printed any more than the other two that I sent were printed. I still wanted to comment on the article about the Harris family, who lives on Maxwell Street, who was harassed by the Stanford Police Department.What was wrong in the eyes of the Stanford police with Bridgett, her husband and the rest of the family and friends? Were they committing LWB, which means Living While Black? Black folks are sometimes charged by police simply for WWB (Walking While Black) or LWB (Laughing While Black).
The police don't seem to need a reason other than those mentioned to harass black people.
My grandson, when he was 15, living in Louisville, was searched and let go one day because he had stopped while riding his bicycle to retie his shoelaces. I told him he was guilty of LWB.
