Church hosts gospel group

Charity First Church of God will host God Sent, a professional gospel group, 10:45 a.m. Sunday.

Food co-op meeting location changes

The location of the downtown Danville food co-op informational meeting has changed.

The meeting will be 7 p.m. June 1 at Trinity Episcopal Church's parish hall at 320 W. Main St.

Wellness Center offers training camp

Running season is under way and McDowell Wellness Center is offering an eight-week training camp to help individuals prepare for a race and help competitive racers improve their run time.

The Running Training Camp begins Tuesday and will have regular classes 8 a.m. each Monday and Wednesday, and 6:15 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday. Classes will run together 8 a.m. each Saturday. During the class, participants will receive information on shoes, heart rate, food, race preparation and the value of strength and cross-training.

The cost is $40 for members and $75 for non-members.

Meeting

Recycling Committee - special called meeting on 9 a.m Wednesday at the recycling center in Danville. Items on the agenda include, old business, new business and hearing the public.

Boyle County Fire Protection District - 5 p.m. Tuesday for a special meeting at Station 7 for the second reading of the 2009/2010 budget.
