On May 16, Herb and Loraine King entertained their families and friends with an anniversary and birthday celebration at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. The Kings were united in marriage at the church by the Rev. John T. Thompson on April 8, 1964. They renewed their vows on their 25th anniversary with Thompson officiating at the same church.
The couple have two children and three grandchildren. Their son, James, lives in Nicholasville, while their daughter, Valerie Lewis, resides in Lexington with her husband Virgil and children, Shealynn, Virgil Charles and Zachary.
Herb is an independent book sales representative for Children's Plus, Inc. Loraine is retired, but works during tax season at H & R Block in Nicholasville. The couple have resided in Nicholasville for the duration of their marriage.
