Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Collins will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John O. Tyler, 4 Cardinal Lane. Mrs. Collins is a retired teacher in the Clark County school system, and Mr. Collins is a retired supervisor in the Daniel Boone National Forest. They have one son, Robert T. Collins of Portland, Ore.

Virginia Menifee, who is retiring after eight years as a counselor at Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, was honored recently at a luncheon on the EKU campus. Mrs. Menifee, who taught in the Clark County public school system for 25 years prior to her tenure at EKU, also was honored at a dinner at the home of Dr. Calvin Totar.

A Kentuckian was among 21 people recognized as heroes by the Carnegie Hero Fund Commission. Eddie L. Watson, 31 of Clay City, a cerebral palsy victim, saved a girl from being hit by a truck last July 25.
