Dwayne and Amanda Maddox were severely injured Saturday when they were struck head on by a vehicle driven by a Louisville man.
The Stanford residents were heading south on US 127 in their Nissan Pathfinder in Lincoln County around 10 p.m. when they encountered Edward Sapp, 46, driving north in their lane.
KSP Trooper First Class Chris Lanham said that a witness saw Sapp enter the highway from Bowen Road, making a left into the northbound lane, and never left it before colliding with the Maddox vehicle.
Reportedly, Allen Bowen, 46, of Stanford was also driving south on US 127 and struck the Maddox vehicle after it collided with Sapp's. Neither Bowen nor his wife or daughter, who were passengers, were injured.
