Boyle 'super' search continues

The Boyle County Superintendent Screening Committee will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Elementary School to review superintendent applications.

This is the third screening committee meeting. It's next meeting will be at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Boyle County High School.

School officials have been searching for a new superintendent since Steve Burkich announced his retirement in April.

New Lincoln school holds open house

WAYNESBURG - An open house is set for 3-7 p.m. Saturday at Lincoln Christian Academy, located at Waynesburg Pentecostal Church, 12127 U.S. 27 South, Waynesburg.

The open house will be an opportunity to meet the administrator, principal and teachers; tour the facility; and register for the 2009-2010 school year.

Stanford kindergarten registration set

STANFORD - Kindergarten registration at Stanford Elementary School will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7. Items required for registration: certified copy of child's birth certificate, child's social security card, child's immunization certificate and proof of address. Vendors, participants needed for Lancaster event

LANCASTER - The Daniel Boone Chapter of the American Red Cross is looking for vendors and participants for its car, truck and bike show, as well as the Family Fun Day, which will be held on July 18 at the Pleasant Retreat Shopping Center in Lancaster.

There will be 40 trophies and one best in show award as well as dash plaques for all entries. Entry forms are available at Farmers National Bank in Lancaster or call (606) 669-4870. Pre-registration is $15 and $20 for day of the show.

Danville food bank takes a break

The Danville Food Bank, located at First Baptist Church, Second and Walnut streets, will be closed Tuesday and Thursday. The food bank will open on its regular schedule the following week.

Danville Boyle County Convention and Visitors Bureau Board - 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grayson's Tavern. Items of business include ex-officio reports; executive director's report; vote on new budget; vote on EDP memorandum of agreement; chairman's report; and hotel/restuarant reports.

American Legion Post 301- The meeting date has been changed from Tuesday to 7 p.m. June 23 at the American Legion Hall in Perryville. Call (859) 332-2805 for more information.
