Ruth graduates from Transylvania

A Danville High School graduate received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Transylvania University on Saturday, May 23, during a commencement ceremony on the front steps of historic Old Morrison.

Elizabeth Ann Ruth graduated cum laude with honors in accounting. Ruth is the daughter of William and Kathryn Ruth of Harrodsburg.

Davidson graduates from Transylvania

A Lincoln County High School graduate received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Transylvania University on Saturday, May 23, during a commencement ceremony on the front steps of historic Old Morrison.

Christian Jacob Davidson graduated with a degree in business administration and Spanish language and literature. Davidson is the son of Jeffrey and Patricia Davidson of Stanford.

Isaacs makes president's list

Brian Isaacs of Lancaster was named to the president's list for the spring 2009 semester at Campbellsville University.

He is a 2006 graduate of Garrard County High school, and is the grandson of Billy and Norma Jackson of Lancaster.

Burns awarded scholarship

Laura Burns was awarded a Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship to help pay for her college education. This scholarship award is $1,500 a year.

Burns, a 2009 graduate of Boyle County High School, will attend Duke University to major in biomedical engineering.

While at Boyle County, Burns was a member of the Y-Club, Pep Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Spanish Club, Alpha Club and cross country team.

She is one of only 84 seniors in the state this year to receive a Byrd Scholarship, a federally-funded program administered by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority.

Burns is the daughter of Rob and Marion Caldwell of Danville. She is the granddaughter of Jere and Mary Caldwell of Danville, and Estelle Lawrence of Raleigh, N.C.
