Boyle County Farmers Market has perfect additions to holiday treats

Happy 4th of July!

Nothing sets off a hot, grilled burger better than fresh vine-ripened tomatoes; crisp, candy onions; and green, leafy lettuce. Add a grilled garden vegetable medley for a perfect summertime meal. These goodies and more will be at the Boyle County Farmer's Market this week.

Vendors will set up at the Boyle County Fairgrounds Tuesdays and Thursdays until Nov. 1 Hours are from 8 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. See you there!

Stop over for lunch. The pulled pork barbecue sandwiches are fantastic. Buffalo burgers, beef burgers and soft drinks are also available.

Recipe of the week

Here is a quick and easy recipe, compliments of Knob View Farm.

Grilled Garden Medley

2 large tomatoes2 each - medium zucchini and yellow squash, sliced1 small onion2 tablespoons margarineSalt and pepper to taste

Wrap all ingredients together in heavy duty aluminum foil. Bake over medium to high coals for 30 to 45 minutes depending on desired doneness.
