Fundraiser will benefit food bank

The Danville Food Bank is holding its first gospel fundraiser 3:30 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, 200 W. Walnut St. The event features the First Baptist Church Male Chorus, and will benefit the Danville Food Bank, located at the church.

Club to hold Bluegrass and barbecue event

Join other pickers and grinners, bring your guitars, banjos, bass fiddles, mandolins or any other musical instruments and join the fun 4-9 p.m. July 25 at the Paint Lick Sportsman's Club, 52 Hammock Alley, Paint Lick. Scheduled entertainers include Andy Blyth (aka Banjo Andy), Keith Combs, Lewis and Donna Lamb, and others. Come hungry; enjoy all-you-can eat pulled pork barbecue, roasted corn, macaroni and cheese, green beans, watermelon, bread and beverage. Cost is $10 per person, children under 5 eat free. Class reunion set

Junction City Railroad Days will include a class reunion of the Junction City High School alumni at 7 p.m. Aug. 1 in the Junction City Elementary School cafeteria.

Citizens Concerned for Human Relations - 4 p.m. Sunday at Danville High School. The agenda is to schedule and make preparations for a community potluck picnic. For more information, call (859) 236-5818.

Mercer Fiscal Court - 2 p.m. Tuesday in the court room. Agenda includes a report on the progress of the solid waste collection and transition of the new transfer station and hearing from the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights. The Public Properties Corp. will hold a special meeting immediately following the fiscal court meeting.

Boyle County Recycling Committee - 9 a.m. Monday at the recycling center.
