The Kentucky Department of Highways plans to close Paris Road on Wednesday for drain replacement work from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The road will be closed for the day at mile marker 13.383, and message boards will be in place to alert travelers, according to the cabinet.

Cabinet officials have also begun resurfacing work on Lexington Road in Clark County. Crews began Wednesday and have performed work at night beginning at 6 p.m.

The resurfacing is focused on a section of roadway between mile marker 0.0 to mile marker 5.0. Lane closures will be in place with one lane of traffic open at all times. Officials said a pilot car is guiding traffic through the construction zone.

All work is scheduled on a tentative basis and is subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone and to use safe driving habits when traveling through the area.
