Police news: Three-car collision results in arrest in Danville

July 24, 2009

Danville Police tracked down a driver that left the scene of an accident Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m.

Police said that Scott Wright, 31, of Harrodsburg was headed south on Third Street at the High Street intersection when his vehicle was struck from behind by Isaac Lamberth's vehicle. Wright's vehicle was knocked into the rear bumper of a vehicle driven by Billy Lucas.

Witnesses said that Wright drove off, turning onto High Street before police arrived on the scene.

Police received a call shortly after the accident advising that Wright and his juvenile passenger were at Brookcove Center. When officers arrived, Wright admitted to being in the accident, but said he fled the scene because of the threat of an altercation with the other drivers.

Assistant Police Chief Tony Gray said there is no evidence Wright was threatened. No injuries were reported from the accident.

Wright was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident in addition to an outstanding warrant for unpaid fines.
