The Winchester Municipal Utilities Commission elected a new chairman and vice chairman during a special-called meeting Thursday night.

Mike Anderson, a middle school teacher who has served on the commission since September, will take over the chairman's role. He has served as vice chairman since May.

The commission also elected Paul Rodgers as vice chairman. Rodgers is the owner and principal engineer of Cedar Creek Engineering, a local firm that specializes in environmental engineering.

The Winchester Board of Commissioners appointed Rodgers on July 7 to fill a vacancy created when Doug Oliver resigned from the commission. Oliver was serving as chairman at the time.
