Stanford Elementary School plans open house

Stanford Elementary School will have its open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday. There will be a short orientation in the gym at 5:45 p.m., by the principals, Dan Story and Haley Ralston.

All parents, guardians and students are welcome to attend, meet their new teacher and learn what exciting things are planned for the upcoming year.

Association offers training

The Alzheimer's Association will offer Family Caregiver Training 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 11 in Lexington. The program is for those who have a friend or family member who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or a related form of dementia. Local and statewide experts in aging and Alzheimer's care will speak on the disease, caregiving basics, legal decisions and how to care for the caregiver. Registration is $15 and includes lunch. Meetings

Boyle County Fiscal Court - 7 p.m. today in the Fiscal Court Chambers. The agenda includes a discussion of the allocation for Planning and Zoning, a resolution to execute the administrative agreement for the Phylben Village sewer project, bids for a sheriff's cruiser.

Junction City Elementary School council - 3:15 p.m. on Aug. 20 in the school's library.
