All those happy children who attend West Jessamine Middle School who thought they were getting an extra day of summer vacation, actually have to begin school Wednesday, Aug. 12, just like all the other students in the district.
Last week the school sent a letter out to parents which mistakenly listed opening day for students as Thursday, Aug. 13, which probably put a smile on the faces of many students.
But, alas, it's not to be.
The school announced Monday that letters had been sent to parents correcting the mistake and saying that indeed, West Middle students should show up on Wednesday morning.
The school apologized for the mistake and said the correction was added to the school's Web site and administrators were placing calls to the homes of parents in an effort to correct the mistake.
