Letter: Not buying it

August 12, 2009

Dear Editor,

Remember the kid in your fourth-grade class who taunted you, unseen by the teacher, until you stood up and told him to stop? His response? "I wasn't doin' nothin'." Debating health care has become the fourth-grade situation, only adults are doing it now.

There's absolutely nothing "un-American" about debating issues. There absolutely is something "un-American" about purposely disrupting a public meeting so no one can debate or discuss. Doesn't matter who's doing the disrupting, Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative.

Those who are disrupting (on purpose) are just saying, "I wasn't doin' nothin'." Didn't buy it then, not going to buy it now.
