The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways announced that a closure will take place on Ky. 1268 (near Rice Street and city hall) in Wilmore at the railroad crossing for repairs on the track. Work will be performed from 2 p.m. to approximately 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
The entire road will be closed at mile marker 12.474 (railroad crossing). The work is being performed by the Norfolk Southern Railroad Company.
All work is scheduled on a tentative basis and is subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the work area.
