The way the child pick up at the new East Jessamine Middle School is set up is not efficient for parents and grandparents. The way the pick up is being done now encourages the excess use of gasoline and diesel fuel. At the same time, it's causing unsafe conditions on Union Mill Road.
The school's parking lot should be used to cut fuel consumption and a crosswalk should be marked on the drive to allow students to safely enter the parking lot. It appears that educators need training on the use of the parking lot.
