Livestock raises top dollar



The Boyle County 4-H/FFA Investment in Youth livestock sale Thursday at the fairgrounds brought total sales of $30,035 for the 20 animals sold.

Receiving top money for their projects were:

Top selling steer: Amanda Goggin, 1,325 pounds at $2.35 per pound.

Top selling goat: Jessica Johnson, 93 pounds at $17 per pound.

Top selling hog: Ethan Ellis, 308 pounds at $6.50 per pound.

Top selling lamb: Campbell Coyle, 142 pounds at $12.50 per pound.

Homemakers seeking booth rentals



The Boyle County Homemakers currently are accepting applications for booth rentals in its fall craft bazaar, "Fall Affair," which will take place Oct. 9-10 at the Boyle County Extension office.

Booth rental is $20 for both days.

Sub Debs to have reunion



The Danvile chapter of Sub Debs are having a reunion on Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. at Southern Charm Bed and Breakfast, 363 N. East St., Harrodsburg. Cost is $20 and includes a meal and a T-shirt. RSVP by calling Katie at (859) 936-1620 or e-mailing kathleenfowler@bellsouth.net.

American Legion Post 301 — 7 p.m. Tuesday at the post in Perryville. The meeting is for both the men and Sons of the American Legion.

Danville-Boyle County Recreation Commission — 4p.m. Wednesday at Millennium Park Rotary-Kroger Shelter.

Boyle/Mercer county Joint Jail Committee — 1:30 p.m. Friday at Boyle County Detention Center. Items on the agenda include the jailer's report, SAP contract, and cooking oil disposal contract.
