Prep golf: Cards third in Bluegrass East tourney

The George Rogers Clark boys' golf team finished third in the Bluegrass East Conference Tournament Monday in Cynthiana.

The Cardinals finished with a 161 — 11 shots behind winner Lexington Catholic and four behind second-place finisher Scott County. The Knights fired a 150 to lead the pack, followed by the Cardinals with a 157.

Brad Martin paced the Cardinals with a 35 and tied Daniel Deluca of Lexington Catholic. Deluca claimed medalists honors, with Martin coming in second.

Ross Todd turned in a solid performance for Clark and fired a 3-over-par 39. D.J. Pegg had a 42 and Michael Martin followed with a 45.

Blake Todd finished with a 48.

Connor McGary followed Deluca and Martin with a 37. Ashton Vanhorne of Scott County finished with a 38.

Martin and Ross Todd were named to the all-conference team.

Bluegrass East all-conference team: Daniel Deluca (Lexington Catholic), Brad Martin (Clark), Connor McGary (Lexington Catholic), Ashton Vanhorne (Scott County), Ross Todd (Clark), Ben Fister (Lexington Catholic), Zack Lewis (Lexington Catholic) and Robbie Barber (Scott County).
