Masons plan ham breakfast



Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 28, 400 N. Fourth St., will serve its monthly country ham breakfast from 7-10 a.m. Saturday. The all-you-can-eat breakfast includes country ham, eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, coffee, milk and orange juice. Donations will be accepted, and the event is open to everyone.

Corning retirees plan breakfast gathering



Harrodsburg Corning Retirees will have a breakfast gathering 9 a.m. Monday at Shoney's restaurant in Danville.

Local eatery helps with benefit event



Friday, 4th Street Deli will participate with Centre College's Interfraternity Council in the annual "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" benefit event by contributing a portion of its sales toward the event. From 5-10 p.m., any food sales to Centre College students will result in a 10 percent contribution, and 5 percent of the overall food sales to the general public will go to the Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center. Live entertainment will begin at 8 p.m.

Weekly Horse College offered



A Horse College will be held in Danville beginning at 6 p.m. every Tuesday in October at the Boyle County Extension Service office, 99 Corporate Drive. Pre-registration is required by Friday at the extension office. Cost is $50 and includes meal and materials. The schedule and topics to be covered include: Oct. 6, equine nutrition and management; Oct. 13, health care; Oct. 20, hoof care; and Oct. 27, pasture management.

The series is intended to help education horse enthusiasts. Topics are suitable for those owning horses for business and or pleasure and will be covered by University of Kentucky Equine Specialist Dr. Bob Coleman, local county agents, veterinarians, farriers and trade representatives. Horse College is sponsored by Kentucky Horse Council, Boyle, Garrard, Lincoln, Mercer County CES and Fort Harrod Backcountry Horsemen. Health department plans landlord meeting



LANCASTER — Garrard County Health Department will hold an informational meeting for landlords 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The meeting, which will be held at the health department, will inform landlords about their responsibilities and rights under state law when law enforcement removes meth from a rental property.

Casey County Hospital District Board of Trustees — 7 p.m. today for a special-called meeting in the board room of the administration building to discuss several items on the agenda.
