Obituary: Robert "Bob" Hansen, 72

Robert "Bob" Hansen, 72, of Eubank, died Monday, Sept. 28 at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

A native of East Chicago, Ind., he was born Tuesday, March 23, 1937, to the late Edward and Ann Resare Hansen. He was a retired steel worker for LTV Steel, Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, former associate with Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home, Past Master and duel member of Waynesburg Lodge #328 and Griffith Masonic Lodge F&AM, a Scottish Rite and a lifetime member of DAV. He was also a Kentucky Colonel and an official greeter and member of Oak Grove #2 Baptist Church.

He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Rockwell Hansen; and a sister, Ann Evion.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Slone Hansen of Eubank; a step-daughter, Donna (Jack) Kuroski of Dallas, N.C.; two grandchildren, Rebecca and Michael Harvey; five nieces; and many friends.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. tonight (Oct. 1) at Oak Grove #2 Baptist Church with a Masonic service beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2 at Oak Grove #2 Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Meece officiating. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery with military honors.

Active pallbearers will be Denver Rose, Doug Waldroup, Howard Gibson, Ronnie Haste, Jimmy Adams and Danny Adams.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the church's building fund.

Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
