Danville/Boyle County Chamber of Commerce plans events

Danville/Boyle County Chamber of Commerce's Business After Hours will be hosted by The Derby Shoppe and Raggs from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Located at 124 and 126 N. Third St. in Danville, The Derby Shoppe and Raggs has been offering the latest in women's fashions since 1976.

To celebrate 33 years in business, Martha Caywood and her staff are having sales and specials every day this week. Chamber members can register to win $33 and get $33 off any purchase during Business After Hours.

Chamber members are encouraged to stop by with business cards to do some networking while visiting The Derby Shoppe and Raggs.

The chamber's Pot of Gold is now at $1,350 and members must be present when their name is drawn to win. Potential chamber members are welcome to attend.

The Danville-Boyle County Challenge Foundation also is offering an opportunity to win prizes. The drawing will be 3 p.m. Thursday at the chamber office, 304 S. Fourth St. in Danville. Only 150 tickets will be sold.

The first ticket costs $100 with $5,000 offered for a prize.

The second ticket costs $50 and offers a $2,500 prize for the first prize, a 2010 chamber membership for the second prize and one chamber monthly mailing for the third prize.

The third ticket costs $25 and offers a Sanyo 42-inch LCD flat screen 1080 HDTV.

The Danville-Boyle County Challenge Foundation is a foundation of the chamber and supports projects such as workforce development, business education exchange and the teacher academy.
