Halloween fun planned for downtown



Halloween events are scheduled for Saturday in downtown Danville. Costume portraits will be taken at the Community Arts Center at 3 p.m. Trick or Treat on Main will be 5:30–7 p.m. and "Spooky Storytelling" will be 5:30-8 p.m. at the Community Arts Center. West T. Halloween carnival planned in Forkland



FORKLAND — An old-fashioned Halloween carnival will be held at the Forkland Community Center from 6 until 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Activities include door prizes, cake walks, games, a pumpkin carving contest (pumpkins must arrive pre-carved) and a "Witches Kitchen" selling chili, hot dogs, sandwiches and desserts. A costume contest also will be held for all ages with judging at 7:30 p.m.

Danville-Boyle County Recreation Commission — 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Danville Board of Education office.

Danville-Boyle Conty Planning and Zoning technical review staff — 9 a.m. Thursday in the Boyle County Fiscal Court room.
