Clark Middle falls in playoffs

The Clark Middle seventh-grade football team lost to Georgetown Middle 8-0 in the Bluegrass Conference playoffs Tuesday night.

Malachi Israel had 22 yards and two tackles. Elijah Farris had nine yards and a sack.

Shawn Willhite had 11 yards, four tackles and recovered the ball on a kickoff. Markos Shoemaker had six yards, three tackles and recovered the ball on a kickoff.

Luke Sharrock had a fumble recovery and three tackles. Kade Sidwell, Cody McCord, Christian Doan, Kain Cole, Josiah Israel, Chris Collins and Dylan Frazier all added tackles in the hard fought effort.

Lady Eagles lose to Woodford

The Clark Middle eighth-grade girls basketball team lost to Woodford County 46-32 in the second round of the Bluegrass Conference Tournament Tuesday night.

Clark Middle ended the season with a 16-7 record and finished third in the Southern division.

Lexxus Graham finished here career 768 points.

Conkwright sweeps Powell County

Conkwright closed out its football season with a sweep of Powell County last week.

In the seventh-grade game, Desmond Davis rushed for 186 yards and three touchdowns in an 18-0 win.

Mason Perkins and Ryan McKinney combined for 24 yards.

Robert Ford had 12 tackles, while Davis, Josh LeCompte and Perkins combined for 23 tackles.

Drew Blevins and Dakota Spencer had four tackles each. Tim Riddell, Caleb Brown and Zack Lisle finished with three each.

Riddell had an interception, while Blevins forced a fumble and Perkins added a fumble recovery for Conkwright.

In the eighth-grade game, Josh Proffit rushed for 140 yards and scored three times in the Cougars' 38-0 win.

Jimmy Miller and Johnny Jarrett combined for 54 yards and two scores for Conkwright.

Taylor Evans had 32 yards rushing, while Lloyd Campbell and Daron Miller combined for four catches for 50 yards.

Proffit had nine tackles, with Khamari Mundy and Johnny Jarrett adding six each.

Campbell, Tanner Rose and Eric Lane combined for eight tackles for the Cougars.
