Rueben Sparks, 86, of Garrard County, died Friday, Oct. 30 at the Life Care Center of Bardstown.
A native of Garrard County, he was born Friday, March 9, 1923, to the late Frank and Ida Lear Sparks. He was a contractor and residential builder, World War II Navy veteran and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Brooks Sparks; two sons, Gary (Kathy) and Larry (Patricia) Sparks both of Lancaster; one brother, Joe Sparks of Muncie, Ind.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Nov. 2 at Ramsey Funeral Home with Bro. J.R. Fields officiating. Burial was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
