Letter: Tough times ahead

November 10, 2009

Dear Editor,

The president gave me my answer when I said I was not sure he had the same concerns we did. This week he is resting at Camp David, according to the press. From what? All the photo ops? Our troops are dying every day, and he will not send help. The people in Fort Hood are not resting. Many are mourning. Former President and Mrs. Bush are among them there.

The Congress signed a health care bill that I believe most of them have not even read. Will the Senate do the same? Why should they, as they are not going to have to use it? How will we pay for it? They just voted themselves a raise, but we got nothing.

This administration has an agenda and will do anything to see it passed. The president has already pandered to every group that he thinks has votes at stake. The next move will be to legalize the illegals. Then they can vote out of gratitude. The average patriotic, hard-working American means nothing. We are not asking for anything but a chance to do what we do best. Work, save, take care of our families and hopefully have a better life.

This week we honor all the men and women who have sacrificed for all to be free. Please say a prayer and remember them. We have some tough times ahead.
