Reatha Martin: April 21, 1936 - Nov. 5, 2009

Reatha Shaw Martin, 73, of Nicholasville, widow of Elder Richard Martin, former Pastor of Camp Nelson Baptist Church, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 5, 2009 after a long illness. She was born April 21, 1936 in Madison County to the late Jess T. and Jeannie Kelly Shaw. She is survived by a son, Dale and wife Teresa Martin of Nicholasville, two daughters, Crystal and husband Gary Harris of Lexington and Sue and husband Stacey Johnson of Lawrenceburg, two sisters, Toni Corman and Carol Gilbert of Cynthiana, one brother, Tommy Shaw of Lousiana, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and other family members. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Harris of Nicholasville, two brothers, Nelson Shaw of Lexington and Gary Lee Shaw of Nicholasville. Services were 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at Betts & West Funeral Home with her Pastor and son-in-law, Elder Gary Harris of Covenant Baptist church in Lexington, officiating. Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at the funeral home. Bearers were Jay Gilbert, Beck and Mike Corman, Kristopher, Joe and Rick Harris.
