The public relations committee of the Odell Gross Elementary School Parent-Teacher Association sponsored its first "Know Your Government Day," Wednesday, Nov. 7. Students from the fourth, fifth and sixth grades assembled to hear city, county and state officials introduce themselves and briefly elaborate on what their duties include.
Daniel Boone Post No. 19, American Legion, held its annual Veterans Day dinner Friday evening at Julie's Restaurant. Special guests were members of the Legion's Auxiliary and Mr. and Mrs. Rick J. Thomas.
The Live Longer and Like It (LLL) Club of Central Baptist Church honored its director, Mrs. Billie Pace, with a birthday dinner Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Golden Corral, following the band's practice session at the church. Birthday cake was served to guests and another birthday cake was presented to Mrs. Pace.
