Police and fire reports for Nov. 24

WINCHESTER POLICE

Charged

— Stewart J. Williams, 19, of 1571 Iron Works Road, was charged Saturday with driving under the influence of intoxicants, no registration receipt, falsely reporting an accident, no insurance card and leaving the scene of an accident.

— James C. Havens, 28, of 135 Stevenson Heights, was charged Monday with theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting).

Reports

— At 1 p.m. Monday, employees at Kmart reported observing two suspected shoplifters. When officers arrived, the men were walking out of the store. When confronted, they had a total of 12 Wii and PlayStation video games concealed in their pants. Alfred Havens of 57 Cook Ave. and James Havens of 135 Stevenson Heights were arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting).

— At noon Thursday, Anthony Hisle of 360 Hill St. reported that a known male damaged the house as he left in his vehicle. When the incident was reported, the man fled in his car.

Accident

— At 12:44 p.m. Monday, officers responded to an injury accident on West Lexington Avenue in which Sara E. McKinney swerved to avoid another vehicle, crossed the curb and stopped against some small trees. McKinney was transported to Clark Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

CLARK COUNTY SHERIFF

Charged

— Charles L. Paynter, 25, was served a warrant at the Clark County Detention Center Monday.

WINCHESTER FIRE-EMS

— On Monday, emergency personnel conducted eight local transfers and four out-of-town transfers. They also responded to two falls, three motor vehicle accidents, two general medical calls, one cardiac case, one seizure and one respiratory case.
