Kentucky's John Wall was named SEC Freshman of the Week today after he averaged 18.0 points, 5.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals in leading the Wildcats to wins over 14th-ranked Connecticut and at Indiana.
Against the Huskies, Wall scored 12 of Kentucky's final 15 points, including a three-point play with 30 seconds left to give the Wildcats a 63-61 lead, and finished with a career-high 25 points against UConn in the SEC/Big East Invitational. His six steals against the Huskies tied for third-most ever by a UK freshman.
He nearly posted a triple-double against Indiana, finishing with11 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.
