Maureen O'Boyle Townson, 76, widow of Alex Townson, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, after a short illness. She was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Brooke County, W.Va., to the late James and Mary Helen Clay O'Boyle. She was one of 13 children.
Maureen was a Volunteer Senior Companion at the Jessamine County Senior Citizen Center and a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Surviving her are sisters, Betty Johns, Nicholasville, Colleen White, Tennessee, Kitty Munn, Michigan; one brother, Dennis O'Boyle, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews throughout the United States. Maureen did not have any children of her own but was a second mother to all of her nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 10 a.m., Dec. 28 at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing.
Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., with Pastor Dan Barnes officiating. Casketbearers will be Stephen Johns, James Johns, Spencer Hammond, Jeremy Woods, Steve White, and Joshua Polley. Honorary caskertbearers will be Dennis O' Boyle, Frankie Giovenetti, Danny Johns, Roger Woods, Randy Warner, and Gill Munn. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
